Nature & Environment Excursions

Introduction of the coastal environment

The goal of this excursion is to introduce the participants to the sandy and rocky shores and habitats along the Mediterranean, to become acquainted with the typical plants and animals of these areas and to learn about the influence of man on these environments.
The excursion includes: an opening lecture, a tour on the coast and a marine organisms short lab.
 

Man and the Sea

This excursion deals with the topic of manmade influences on the sea and raises questions and dilemmas of preservation versus development and consumption.
The excursion includes: an opening lecture, a tour to the Israeli Electrical Company power station facilities, a tour on the beach and a summation activity.

 

Discovering the coast

Activity for preschoolers introducing basic coastal environment topics, through class and beach games and fun activities.

Research Excursions

Environmental Workshop

The workshop is a research program designated for students doing their matriculation in environmental studies. The goal is to present to the students a variety of environments and habitats while focusing on manmade influences and interferences on these environments. our workshops focus on the coastal area and the Hadera stream estuary area.

Oceanotpoe

The Oceanotope is a research project designated for the earth sciences matriculation studies. During the project the students will be exposed to various oceanographic topics and will learn how to plan and execute scientific research.

Research of the marine and coastal environment workshop

This unique workshop focuses on the physical and oceanographic aspects of the Mediterranean Sea and coasts, the ecological systems and the marine food web in this environment. The workshop will also cover topics such as manmade interferences and research techniques.

 

Short workshop about the coastal environment

A short workshop, introducing the characteristics of the Mediterranean coast and its value and the influences of man's activities on this environment.

 

Coastal environment workshop

This workshop presents the physical and biological aspects of marine habitats, the values and benefits of the habitat to mankind, and the influences of man on the habitats. The workshop will also show and demonstrate valuable tools and means of actions to help reduce our influence to the minimum.

A lecture about manmade influences on the seas while focusing on the subject of waste and plastic and demonstrating the influence of these materials on the natural environments.

Introduction to coastal environments

A lecture about the natural habitats of the coast and the sea, and the effect of man on the coastal environment in Israel and the the world. The lecture is suitable for a broad spectrum of audiences.

Coast Investigators

A This is designated for elementary and middle school children and includes class and field work while bringing forth ecological surveys, and experimenting with a variety of research techniques such as scientific observation, monitoring, surveying, and more.
